We are proud to be part of the Cat Friendly Clinic scheme run by the international Society for Feline Medicine (ISFM). The award scheme is designed to encourage vets to provide a specially adapted service to cats and their owners, taking into consideration all those little quirks we know cats have. Greensands Vets was one of the first clinics in the Beds/Bucks area to join the scheme and we have achieved silver status.
At Greensands we understand it can be stressful when you have to bring your cat to see us. Cats are not small dogs and have very different requirements and our vets and nurses understand and respect this. Because of this we have two designated Cat Advocates at the practice, to help ensure we always do our best to make your feline friends feel at home. Emma and Heather can be contacted ahead of your visit to discuss how best we can help on 01908 282101 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Heather Grace RVN has just passed the ISFM feline nursing certificate with merit and has a real passion for making your cat's visit go smoothly and can help with many behavioural problems.
We have a dedicated cat zone upstairs with a spacious cat-only consulting room and cattery. Here you can wait away from the busier areas with your feline friend safely tucked away into alcoves specially designed to accommodate a cat basket. There is a complimentary supply of Pet Remedy spray, a calming herbal mist to soothe anxious pets. All of this means that on arrival in the consulting room your cat is as relaxed as possible, which makes a thorough examination possible.
Should your cat need to be admitted for a procedure, they will stay in our cattery in one of our feline cages, with plenty of room for a cosy igloo bed, a litter tray and a shelf to climb up onto.
Cat Friendly Clinic is an internationally-recognised award. It means that we have met criteria to ensure all the needs of your cat are met. To find out more about what this means visit http://icatcare.org/catfriendlyclinic/owners
