Cat food recall June 2021

RECALLED CAT FOOD LINKED TO SERIOUS BLOOD DISEASE IN CATS June 2021

A suspected contaminant in some dry cat foods has caused many cat deaths nationwide this month. We would like to reassure anyone who has bought food from us that Hills, Royal Canin and Purina foods are not affected.

The link below should take you to a comprehensive list of affected cat foods along with the batch number to check for.

It is only dry food that has been affected but as well as Applaws, Sainsbury’s and AVA, Wilkos own brand needs to be checked as the same factory supplies them.

We have seen 4 affected cats at the surgery this week and 2 have sadly died. Please let all your cat-owning friends know as it is truly heartbreaking
