A Warm Welcome To Greensands Vets in Woburn Sands
Welcome to Greensands Vets' website. This site provides you with help and information about our veterinary practice, the team and the services we offer.
Our professional team is committed to providing quality care and treatment to your pet who we consider to be a member of your family. We offer a friendly, caring service and are happy to discuss all aspects of your pet's health. To make an appointment or for advice please call us on 01908 282101.
During the Coronavirus Pandemic please note that we have had to make some changes to our services
- Consultations: We are seeing patients at the surgery for examinations when they are unwell and offering phone or video consults if you are shielding or isolating. Appointments must be booked by phone in advance and please be aware that we are unable to allow owners to enter the building with their pet. Please see our Covid-19 advice section for more details
- Vaccinations: We are offering vaccination courses for new puppies and kittens, boosters for 12-15 month old dogs & cats (first annual booster) as this one is the crucial one, lepotospirosis boosters in some high-risk cases, rabbit vaccinations (as we are entering peak-season for rabbit diseases). We have introduced a new vaccination clinic from 9th June to provide booster vaccinations for adult pets who are overdue their booster. We are not offering kennel cough vaccination at this time. Call us to discuss your pet's individual circumstances.
- Neutering: We are not able to provide surgical neutering for dogs as a routine due to shortages of some anaesthetic drugs and oxygen, both of which are, quite rightly, being supplied to the NHS as a priority. We do have some medical alternatives for both male and female dogs though that can prevent seasons and control breeding until surgery is once again available. Please call or email us to discuss the options available. Because we use different drugs for cats and rabbits and because it can be much more difficult to prevent them breeding, we may be able to surgically neuter them (for registered clients and in certain specific circumstances -please call us to discuss). Post-op checks will be mainly by phone and video.
- Repeat prescriptions: We can supply medication and food as normal. If possible, we would ask that you email us with your order (firstname.lastname@example.org). As we are currently a much smaller team (just 4 of us at any time) it is not always possible for us to get to the phone and it is better if we can leave the lines free for emergency calls.
Thank you everyone for your patience and support throughout these unprecedented times.
Once all the Covid restrictions are lifted we will be pleased to invite all new clients to a free registration check with a vet
We are grateful for the photos of some of our patients that we have used on this site, in the banner above and throughout. Please feel free to send us your pet portraits and we can display some of them on our website.
